How the **** do I get pictures off Fiona's iPhone 4?

There's no way I can see to do it using iTunes. Google is really
unhelpful as it suggests paid for third party software.

I've had to resort to using Bump and then transferring them from my HTC
    over a cable.

  2. iTunes should see them - assuming you have the sync set to include photos.

    Mac, Windows or other OS?

In iTunes have you made sure 'Enable disk use' is checked?

It's set to sync a specific folder - it will sync photos from pc to
iphone but not iphone to pc.

    Win XP

That's what I was thinking. If it's set up to Sync photos and he still
doesn't see them, I'd reinstall iTunes as a starter.

If I plug an iPhone into a Windows box, it shows up as a camera.

But that's only useful for getting photos off it that you've taken on it
    - it won't recover stuff from the photos.app - although you should have
    those on the PC anyway.

    Where's that?

FFS I'm relatively competent with computers - certainly more so than my
wife - but this seems a lot of fucking about to just get pictures from a
    Cameraphone to a PC.

I must be missing something simple.

Thanks - found it now. I had missed something simple! I thought it
would have to be done through iTunes (everything else does).

    What's photo.app?

The photo viewer. Might be 'photographs' or something. Can't remember,
and can't be arsed getting up to find it.

I'm sure an iPhone (and iTouch) can't be used in disc mode - the filing
system is very different to that of 'traditional' iPods, which do allow
    it.

D'Oh, just checked. Plug in the phone, open up explorer and you should
see the phone listed as a drive. You can download the pictures from the
    mounted drive.

My mistake, "enable disc use" only works with ipods not iphones
    It's an Apple product.

Your suggestion worked for some of the pictures but not all - which is a
    shame.

    Oh well.
