I saw this and thought of you lot. http://xkcd.org/662/
<VBG> I'm trying to get my hands on the droid atm. That'll mean I have the best of both worlds. An iPhone for personal use and the droid for work.
I'm almost tempted to get one myself, but I'll no doubt prevaricate for months about it and by then 2.0 will be around.
For extra confusion there is the "Droid" and the "Droid Eris" which is a rebadged HTC. It won't be called the Droid in Europe, though - it'll be called the Millstone, er, Milestone. And it won't have the turn-by-turn navigation that everyone has been going on about (it seems that Google license their data from Teleatlas, who are owned by TomTom, who are understandably against the idea). But it may well have multitouch. I am planning to get one next year.
Um, no I didn't, so thanks for that. I'd assumed Droid was short for Android and he was referring generically to the OS. So, by the time I ummm and ahhh, said device might be over here.
I didn't And I'm pretty sure that the author didn't, either. But ICBW. -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS 156 V6 2.5 S2 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
Based on his previous output, the author is more insightful than you give him credit for. xkcd wouldn't be so great if he weren't.
There is truth in what you say. -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS 156 V6 2.5 S2 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
So it does. It's funny either way. -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS 156 V6 2.5 S2 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
It's going everywhere. The marketing teams have been going overboard atm. They're even advertising it before it's on the market.
I think a lot's riding on google android for Motorola. If it doesn't work then they'll be in the shit big time.
Quite, but it's not public knowledge on how much is riding on these new models. I'm not really at liberty to say too.
Actually, whilst the industry is thinking that, it's probably not going to happen. Not straight away, at least. Heh, I know. And the fact that Moto has made some serious strategic mistakes really hasn't helped the mobile phone division.
