#motorcycles on oz.org predated #ausmoto be a couple of years.

#motorcycles was (is) a general motorcycle chat channel for all
motorcyclists.

Other channels existed such as #Ausmoto (for aus.motorcycles news group
users), #netrider (for users of the Netrider webforum), #OCAU.MC (for
users of the OCAU.MC web forum) and there were probably others.

In addition to #Motorcycles and #Ausmoto someone has now registered
#OCAU.MC so most of the oz.org motorcycle channels are now on austnet.
