Cross over to Rosslare and make your way up to Galway via Waterford,
Tipperary, Limerick and Ennis. Stopping off to enjoy fine food and drinks.
From Galway head out to the west. Then head up to Sligo and across country
to Dublin. A few nights in Dublin then head down the east cost back to
Rosslare. Spend some time in Galway, you'll love it.

I lived in Galway for two years.

  4. What would you recommend? Just look for B&B or rent somewhere?

The Wicklow Mountains are worth a vist. Emulate Cromwell and go by
Hook (lighthouse) and Crook (ferry) to Waterford. Feel the ghosts at
Cobh (near Cork) where the emigrants left. Bantry Bay is pretty,
Connors Pass (Dingle) spectacular. The roads radially from Dublin are
    OK, the rest pretty crap.

  9. Thanks Colin. I've done Sligo for a conference ages ago. The roads have
pot holes you can take a flask and sandwiches into. What do you
    recommend for accommodation?

Somewhere out of the rain, and with a bar within a hundred feet.

The first is hard to find, but if you succeed, the second is easy.

Sid and Vic were faithful friends, when 8 bits were enough for anyone,
jumpers were used as goalposts and not found on PCBs ...

We were on a cheap package which included ferry plus vouchers for a
week's worth of B&Bs. I can't remember which ones we picked, but they
were all nice. Finding somewhere not too dear to eat of an evening was
not always easy. In the end we tended to have bar meals in hotels
    which had restaurants.

  19. I know that it tends to rain a bit. But hopefully in late June July it
    will be OK :)

SW: Dingle Bay, Valentia Island. Lovely. Then head north up the coast,
Dingle Peninsula, Mount Brandon, endless white beaches (strands), ferry
across the Shannon at Tarbet, then up to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren
etc, then up into Galway and Connemara, Mayo, Sligo etc, then up to the
north coast, Giants Causeway, Antrim Coast...
