  1. Don't do it on a sportsbike with a stiff suspension - I did and my
wrists still ache in memory. Some of the worst roads it's been my
    mispleasure to ride.
Of course they may have been relaid in the five years since I was
    there.

No you are quite right. I went to Galway last year and took the R100RS
as it has long travel plush suspension.

  4. A lot have, but there are still some real shit ones. What's needed is
compliant suspension to cope with the ripples and not be thrown off line
    by some little bumps.
Trouble is, most sportsbikes are designed for billiard-table like
surfaces, and those tend to be rarer here, thus spoiling some really
    excellent rides.

Big trailees are just the job, I suppose, althought the SOGS have never
complained too much about it, and let's face it, if I can blast around
some of the shite roads here and not end up in a ditch, then a modern
bike should cope ok. Maybe it's more to do with the calibre of modern
    riders.

LOL. I read that and smirked too. I've been in June twice and it
    pissed down both times.

When was that? Galway's changed *a lot* in the past few years.

  8. Last time I went I stayed with the local sec of the Z1 owners club.
There where pot holes you had to take a flask and sandwiches into.

Connors Pass brought back memories of a great week spent in Camp exploring
    the Ring of Kerry.
It all sounds just a little bit gay now in hindsight.....
