Is it a racer thing?

  1. When in the YUK last week I went to Dave Wood's shop and asked him for a
gel type battery for the bike ( as I had been advised here ). Gave him
the 49 quids and he said some stuff about charging the battery after
filling it. This confused me a tad as I figured one wouldn't have to
'fill' a gel battery. Anyway, got home and read the bit of paper in the
box and it's a bog standard lead-acid battery.

Every racer I've known (with the exception of that johnny-come-lately
    Champ) has been a bullshitter.

    Why is this?
