.... filter between a funeral proccession ? Just asking.
Not at all. Proper etiquette as explained in Debrett's http://www.debretts.com/search.aspx?search=funerals Would be to salute the deceased as you pass. Policemen on foot should remove their hats as a sign of respect as the cortège passes. Sadly a tradition which seems to be dying. The correct and proper form of respect from the passing motorcyclist would be to salute left handed facing left whilst holding a steady one handed mono. Careful use of the rear brake for balance and control is recommended. Also remember if your exhaust is loud enough to wake the dead then it will be an occasion for joy and not sorrow. One further point, the conductor of the funeral will be distributing kudos in a manner relating to how much of a traffic jam can be caused by the driver of the hearse. The previously held record being from South Mymms roundabout all the way to Cockfosters. It only counts if it makes the traffic report. If you can make it past both the limousine and the hearse on one wheel the drivers get a lower share of the kudos in deference to the bearers. Be aware that the vehicle operatives whilst travelling at such a slow speed are probably eyeing up roadside female pedestrians and rating them out of 10. With one being the highest score. This inevitably means that concentration is not at it's highest in the funeral vehicles. Finally remember. Respect the dead. Give only your finest wheelies. We'll all be there one day.
I'm not sure I should admit this on here but in the last month I've twice been overtaken by a hearse. Ok, I was in the van doing 60 on a dual carriageway but even so, it's still a bit of a surprise.
