or does anyone else derive considerable enjoyment from driving like a mad
**** down the back lanes in really bad weather?

We're back to the thing where people recommend what they've currently got,
aren't we? I suppose we could compromise on a shite old Mazda propped up on
    bricks...

    In
I've got one of those for sale at the moment, strangely enough.

'87 Rangie with a slight big end knock, loads of MOT though, Yours for
£450.. I suspect it'd be ok with a set of shells in, but I've not got time
    to investigate.

Yes, especially the deep puddles and huge piles of leaves.

Nope, me too. Many years ago I used to go road-rallying. Shitty
weather plus huge Cibies [1] plus narrow roads = fun.

[1] I'd be grateful for the loan of an acute accent, if some kind
person has one handy - I can't be arsed to look.

  12. For future reference use 'Alt-GR' with the 'e' key.

Dunno what your keyboard setting are, but it don't work wiv mine.

'ang on, you're on a UK engrish one, aren't you? é yup.

poisonally, I like[1] to switch between US English and US
International, the latter of which allows one to use the ', ^, ` and "
keys[2] to preced a letter and deliver the appropriate accent, é, ê,
è, ë. I use all three keyboard settings, each of which is available
via a hot-key setting, so it's easy to switch mid-sentence.

    [1] Well, given that it's physically a US keyboard - obviously I'd
    rather have a UK one.
[2] And others, not all of which I'd use, as I only normally want to
    type them in French.

  14. You have my deepest sympathies. I don't "do" snow and ice anymore -
    they're a bloody inconvenience.

In the company van it's great fun (apart from the tools and machines
flying around in the back) but it's not something I enjoy on the bike.

Just put your bikes away and get your skis out - best of all worlds,
    see?

Can you find out what's the chance, in a normal year, of there still
being any snow around, for skiing that is, in June? Looks like I'll be
spending two weeks in Denver, so I'll be a) looking you up for a beer
or ten and b) seeing if we can get some late skiing in at the same
    time.
