Apart from the fact that the colour doesn't match - but, there again,
with vehicles that are multicoloured, what criteria do they use for
determing the V5C info anyway? It's taxed, and the seller appears to
    have the docs for it.

Yes... but it's supposedly an F1 frame with F2 plastics.

Registered in 1999 (an import apparently), whilst it appears to have an F1
tank and maybe the switchgear and front forks, the rest of it is F2...
    wheels, swingarm etc.

Even if the frame / engine turn out to be the real deal, the rest of it is
nicked I reckon - don't know anyone who'd clothe an F1 in F2 bits unless
    they were *that* cheap, IYSWIM.

    My GS is going cheap.

Do you still want it, btw?

    I've got buyers waiting.

The year on the reg is G - way too early. I had a CBR600F-L years
back. It was 1993 L reg if I recall.

    Looks well dodgy to me.

Perhaps the F2 bits were available on Fleabay, but the F1 ones weren't?

Personally, I wouldn't try to swap parts from one year to another if it
could be avoided as there can be a slight difference in the fittings.

    That would be my guess.
I'd use them if they were the only parts available.

On the bike in question I'd be more inclined to look for accident
damage (frame) than worry about stolen parts but I know **** all about
Ebay because I still think it's an auction.

I'm going to bow out on that one matey... if I don't end up with a cheapo
CBR etc. soonish, I'm probably going to save for a couple of months until I
can get something I really want.

    Ta anyway.

It hasn't just got the bodywork... it has the wheels, the swingarm etc.

I reckon an F2 has been pinched somewhere along the line.

Not least it's also allegedly a 1990 model bike first registered in 1999.

I was about to fight my corner and disagree with you. Dug out the
receipt and mine was actually an FR. I'll shut up now.

OK, OK, my memory is crap. What I am certain of is that it was a very
gay mauve colour. Even after I chucked it into a cortina it still
    looked gay.
