is it the bike, or have I gone mad

I rode the 'blade the other day - the first time in *ahem* a while[1].
It felt odd, as if there were something up with the tyre pressures,
but a manual (attempted squeeze test) check showed they were still at
    least "full of air".

What it actually felt like was that it was much slower steering than I
remember, and it also felt as if I were riding across a slope - it
seemed to be happier turning left than right.

Any idea what could cause this, as it was perfectly fine the last time
    I had it out.

    [1] about 9 months[2].
[2] I've been very busy this year.

Tyres will feel "full of air" when they have 10~15psi in them. You
really need to check them properly. It's the most likely cause of the
sensation you experienced, and also the most likely thing to have
happened when the bike's been stood for 9 months.

I have ridden two of my other bikes in the 9 month period concerned.
But biking's a hobby for me rather than a necessity - if other things
get in the way (in this case a combination of work and organising
moving house) then so be it.

I had exactly those symptoms on the Zed. It was low pressure in the front
    tyre.

    It's... Umm... Err...

It's sublimation of the front wheel and steering head bearings. That's
    it.

All you need to do is take it out on a really tight bendy road and ride
it flat out. A road with stone walls at either side works best
because... because... they retain the airflow so that the sublimated
    matter is dispersed efficiently.

Don't touch a thing, just keep it nailed down a really twisty road.

    Trust Me(tm).

Indeed. I was wondering if the Triumph was some evil-handing piece of crap
that was trying to kill me, until I found there was 20psi in the front

  16. Speaking of which, I'll be back from Tuesday 26th September to Sunday
1st October to sort out The Bikes Situation.

Anyone know where/how to find a shipping container, and associated
    storage facility?

  17. Googling "self storage" and the area you're looking at will be a good
start. You'll get those companies offering various sized spaces within
their purpose built units - however, be aware that these companies
charge an ongoing small fortune for something container sized.

If you want proper ocean container storage - then that's an obvious one
to google, but again, cheap it ain't.

Lastly, If you know somewhere that a container could be stored - back
of Cane's gaff as an example - then you could buy a 40' container for
about 750 quid + delivery. You'd obviously get most of this money back
when you the flog it on again.

that's the only week in September that I'm fairly free, so if you need
any assistance, drop me an email or call me on my cell[1]. If
everything goes to plan, I may even have a towbar on the Jeep + a bike
    trailer by then.
    no clue, sorry.

[1] see, anyone can speak american - it's easy.

yeah, yeah - I'll check at the weekend - it does seem the mostly
    likely cause of the problem.
