Is the FAQ dead?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Timo Geusch, Jun 22, 2008.

  1. The transportation is easy. The importation (ie Customs and Vehicle
Registration) is going to be anywhere from irritating to impossible
with prohibitively expensive being somewhere in there for kicks.

The gmail in my headers is valid if you want to take this off group.
A carriers dream come true. He'll end up paying dead weight or
    volumetric weight, whichever is greater.

In this case, sounds like volumetric weight, sometimes known as
dimensional weight. As an example, for UPS see here:
    http://www.ups.com/content/gb/en/resources/prepare/dim_weight.html -

If it's not urgent, surface (ie slowboat) is likely to be
significantly cheaper. If it needs to go air, might even be worth
checking the post office, as they're staff aren't all that savvy on
the dimensional side of things and might just take the dead weight,
which could be a bargain in this case.

I appear to have most of it downloaded from Feb 2007 (latest page to
be updated seems to be online_resources.html on 13th May 2007) along
with the ftp file of where they came from.

however, I don't have a copy of the main ukrm.net pages which would be
a big loss if we don't get them back cos I don't suppose darsy has a
    copy either.

I also have a spreadsheet detailing the things I needed to update.

  3. I have, AFAICT, the whole lot from today. Timo and/or Cab should be able
to get them just as easily but if they can't for whatever reason I can, as
I said, email them to someone. I don't have anywhere to host them though.

    Regards, Ian.

That he has just found out. He wasn't best please that his 300 quid
super-rare bumper would cost a grand to ship.
I think slow boat would be fine, but he's got no idea who to ask...

BTW, ukrm.co.uk is coming up as a dodgy site with the McAfee Site
advisor. I think it's 'cos you've got a Kazaa exe on there.
