I have a really weird problem

emails on a certain address are being received and disappearing

    in the logging ...

"Tue, 23 Dec 2008 23:28:55 New mail from mailbox
    stored in a mailbox as
    <UID12106-1189335050.""@mail.cetlxxtd.com>"

is received, but I can't find it anywhere

    compare with

Tue, 23 Dec 2008 23:54:07 New mail from mailbox
    stored in a mailbox as
    <UID26347-1189575045.""@mail.kaxxteda.org>

which just appears in my inbox as normal

anyone any idea where they might have gone, I think this has been going
on for some time and I've only just noticed

You're not filtering the mails with procmail by any chance are you?
What's your mail server set up? Are you managing your own mail server?

What Turnpike folder are the emails routed to?

And you'll get a better class of response from demon.ip.support.turnpike
(you don't have to connect via Demon to get help there).

  4. Since running with Vista as an OS, Turnpike seems to have a mind of it's
own. Then again it could be me.

I couldnt get it working properly. the permissions kept resetting and
I'd have to restore from an old image, set the permissions which would
be ok for an hour or two and then go bump.

unfortunately this now means I'm using outpuke.

Have you looked in "Turnpike Neighbourhood" and then navigated to the
    folders within?

dunno - its filtered by fasthosts
no, its handled by someone else

I can see a ruck of emails with a no entry icon on them with the
    subject
    "--private --"

This is from the 9th of September onwards, so something changed on that
date, but I don't think I changed anything around that time

Clicking on properties I get "private email message" "belonging to user
    'geoff'" and the size

If I send to another address and cc to , I can see the
    message

I can't see where they are routed to
Which is part of the problem

If I try and change the default from "raden" to "geoff" TP tells me that
"geoff already exists on the system"
    I'll give that a try

    cheers

There may also be one called "Postmaster" where other non-routeable
    emails are placed.
