As an angled power take off plug? The PTO on the 'alp is near the legs (just
like the bmw) & if i plug a normal plug in, it sticks out too much.

This caused images of a Ural pulling a rotavator to enter my mind...

A Ural being /pushed/ by a rotavator would be a more accurate depiction.

just remembered a couple of other sources: John Deere tractor shops or
places where truckers congregate. IIRC, someone on here said those
concessions that flog mobile phone accessories at motorway services often
    have adapters for DIN sockets.

Ta, I have an adapter, but the thing is bulky, i might just install another
    on the dash.

  12. Me too. What's so hard about saying '12v accessory socket', Nige?

I have to admit, it had me confused for a second[1]; first I thought
it was about a Transalp, but *i was sore they couldn't be *that*
agricultural[2], then I guessed that an 'Alp was some model of Disco
with a PTO gearbox fitted, then I figured out what it was all about.

[1] All right, even door handles get me confused sometimes
[2] says the Guzzi owner wiv 2 cases to be taken into considration

    Christ on a bike! PPL004 £13.87?!?! He's having a laugh, isn't he?

I got the "cigar cable" from a local caravan accessories shop for
£2.50. He wants £21.07 for exactly the same fucking thing!

Ebay has that sort of thing under "hella plug" at more reasonable
prices. If they haven't got the exact thing required, I'm sure that
emailing one of the "shops" may turn up the item, or where to get one
    at a decent price.
