If the system has been fitted incorrectly - and then run like that-
the pipes will tend to "heat set" to that incorrect position. But
certainly loosening the bracket and moving it around could well help

    Chinese exhausts don't fit?
Does that mean they were copying Micron designs instead of Motad?

Ok, well luckily it's only in the vertical plane and should be
absorbable in the mounting bracket in any case.

    All the best ..

    Way hey!

Rub the old zutty pipe hard enough and a genie /will/ pop out of the
    end of it.

Lurking isn't underhand, Ian - it is merely a usenet term for people
who read but don't habitually post replies, or start threads. The
ratio is reckoned to be 10 lurkers to every poster, so you're in the
majority. You carry on lurking man, especially if you're going to pop
up and sort queries when they arise.

    internet slang!

On mailing lists, where you have to register to recieve the emails,
the sysadmin knows how many registered users there are, and how many
of them are posting. The 10:1 ratio comes from there.

An oft used analogy is that UKRM is a bit like a pub. Lurking is like
going to the same pub every night, always sitting next to the same
group of people and listening in on every conversation they have, but
    never saying hello.

    Creepy.

The analogy is flawed. You don't normally walk into a pub and get set
upon by half a dozen of the regulars, for no other reason than having
expressed your opinions (irrespective of how 'controversial').

    Not repeatedly, no.

I don't normally walk into a pub and shout "you're a wanker!, and you,
and you, too" and expect a civil reception when I've done it every
    weeknight for six months either.

When have I ever called you a wanker, Nick? I still haven't forgotten
    the huge bag of crispies..

All the lurkers that email me just want to talk about sex or how they
know a way I can stay up all night. My problem is sleeping, so it just
shows how much they fucking read.

If I went into a pub and was set upon by the regulars a few times I
might realise that they didn't want me there and find somewhere else
to go. That could be because I'm clever enough to be able to see these
things whereas not everybody else would manage that.

Why haven't you fucked off yet?

I don't know whether my odd emails come from lurkers, but all they ever
say is something about sleeping with the fishes - I'm fucked if I know
what they're on about, it's their wives I've been sleeping with.

That would probably hold true if usenet was the only place you could read
ukrm. More places than Google replicate our wibblings.

The only emails I've had from lurkers are along the lines of "Get well
