From the first link... I'm not sure if this comment is serious:

"Perhaps the mothers are afraid that the camera will steal the spirits
    of their children.

This is fairly common among ignorant peoples.

Well I 'struggled' in to work today (and yesterday) with a mate in his
diesel Fabia. We didn't even have to use the improvised FOAD zip tie
snow chains we had ready. No problem at all, by waiting until 9.30. It
was getting a bit icy even on main roads on the way home this evening at
    6.30 though.

TBF we have only had about 6 inches of snow in total[1]. Respect for the
chap leaving the car park in fine style in an MX5.

[1] Still enough to convince most of the schools to close. SWMBO ended
up feeding lunch to the lad and 9 of his hungry mates after a mega
    snowball fight in the garden.

the stream/waterfall has lots of potential, wish I had stuff like that
    around here.
The sea can get a bit repetitive. Keep having to come up with new ideas

  7. "Sent by my iPhone" is an Apple default that you have to spend time
(not much, admittedly) to figure out how to turn off, or (in Dan's
    case) change.

Superb photos - what lenses do you use?

I have an old 300D but never seem to quite such sharp shots - although
this will no doubt be down to complete operator incompetence.

  13. Best bargain bang for buck new lens of the past year that was. It loses
a bit from 200 to 300, but below that it's fine. Even above that it's
acceptable. I still prefer manual, but for simple P&S mode, this is
    excellent.
