Having failed several times using the Approved Zymurgical Method I was
enduring a moment of despair this morning. Effectively tempered the
sense of achievement I had after wrestling it by myself out of the back
of the van from amongst the unexpected stack of 'things' I had acquired.

Then I realised that turning the key one more notch might be a good idea
    :)

What's it like when it's warm?

Well. It's been a bit hectic so it's only had the one 20 mile thrash to
    get it warmed up.
Got back and couldn't get the thing into neutral as the clutch seemed
'sticky'. I let it stall so I could open the gate and it started on one
    kick.
Rode it in. Stalled it turning round and then the bugger wouldn't
    start.....

It's an odd experience starting it from cold. I have been trying it at
various times through the day in between chores. Sometimes it's just a
bastard, other times it goes first time.
As always; I think the quality of kick is important.

    Yours?

Mine has a Mikuni carb - I have to use the choke no matter how
cold/warm/screaming hot the bike is to get it to start *first* prod.

This is first time, (nearly) every time.

I'm up to my eyeballs in work for the next few weeks so not much riding
of anything is going on at the moment.
I'll have a good play once this stint is done.
Mine has a Mikuni carb' but the choke is 'on' and I've been told not
toturn it on at all :)
It definitely does not start first time when cold :)
I'm planning to have a fiddle with it though......

Sorry to arrive late to the party.

That should read 'Choke is fully off, but it's still a bit rich' Put
choke on *at all* and it'll be *really rich* i.e. flooded.

Let me root that CV carb out for you, and it'll be rockin'. Or should
    that be startin' ...

    Paul.

What model of Mikuni is it and what're the jets? I'll have a look at
mine over the weekend and post them here.

    Which CV is that?
