Yeah, and the analysts. However, SAP as a product is one of those
huge things that very few people understand, so usually the
implementations are cack-handed to say the least. I've seen HR
databases where people who worked in two different departments ended
up with two payroll numbers, getting paid twice! The system itself
could have coped, but the implementor couldn't.

Our systems here are hopeless, and cannot cope with any of the changes
which management of all large companies like to make on an annual
    basis.

The 6 monthly "restructuring to focus on core business" usually
results in about 2 weeks when none of the IT works.

I have had the MD approve courses for me before now because my boss,
his boss, his bosses' boss and all their bosses never bothered to log
onto the system and every week it dutifully escalated the request to
the next line manager up ...

The Older Gentleman was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
They pay him half peanuts, he doesn't even appear to be a proper
    monkey that bloke...
You can probably hit that guy with a +4 cluebat until it breaks off,
and it will have no effect whatsoever on him.

    I agree.

I think some problems are just too big to be solvable in one go.
Mighty ambition leads to mighty failure.
