One of the sheddies. Currently out of jbex and looking for something to
pay the mortgage. For a permanent wbo I'm aiming to be a head of IT. For
short contracts I'll also look at project manglement, with Prince 2 if
you like. I'm a general-purpose techie; electronic engineering, business
analysis, data-processing and biochemistry if you need it.

oh you ****, not I've got a (moving) image of that old soft drink
advert with the Kaiser being filmed as a Bigfoot.

I've just recently discovered my practitioner status has lapsed (well,
it lapsed in August 2010, but I only noticed a week or so back). What
a pain, though at least the multiple choice re-examination is
apparently a piece of piss compared to the gruelling 3 hour hand-
written essays I had to do originally.

He must be very very old. I haven't peeked or poked anything since I
was but a whipper snapper with a vic20.

    I shall.

Without really wanting to blow my own trumpet, I know I could do a
fucking great job for them. But it's getting through the interview
process that's proving difficult - I've got to the "final 2" about 5
or 6 times now in the last 12 months or so (including a fucking long-
winded 5-interview process with "the world's local bank" in October
last year) and it's starting to piss me off.

I realise you are in extremis but I wouldn't waste time on firms that want
to run X Factor type recruitment. I'd do two interviews. A third maybe if
    I've actually been selected.

Aptitude/Psych tests can take a run. Obviously they haven't read the CV and
looked at the job history. Or I applied for the wrong grade.

A word of warning - there may be tropical beaches nearby, but Nigeria
    is _not_ a better location.

I've managed to get one interview in the last year, and us
    interviewees
felt a bit out of place as all the existing staff seemed to be a biker
gang on their day job (with lots of friendly ;) noting the cross-
    post).
