It finally happened to me

  2. I have, frequently. Like a slightly more fibrous beef steak, really.

    I am also quite partial.
    Strange innit.

Years ago there was, yes, 'cos I used to stop there when I was
despatch riding. Light years ahead of BK or McD, IMHO.

Wendy's never really took off in the UK, and a quick look on the
interwebthingy suggests they've pulled out altogether.

There was another decent minor league burger chain whose name I
    forget. Did lovely wholemeal buns.

I find horse and donkey has a particular flavour that I find
unpleasant. Ostrich is very nice, though - sort of a bit like some of
the lghter types of venison, but always tender and not quite as
    strong.

I've had all 3 and bison is by far my favourite.

Ostrich is pretty damn tasty too.

I've found it pretty underwhelming. Too lean.

I must admit, I'd have to travel far to see such an act of utter
    stupidity.

It wasn't /that/ stupid. The barbie was placed in the middle of the next
field, the fire was lit, and everyone retired to a safe distance. Big
    pop. Nothing to it.

Safer than the average firework display, I'd have said.

Safer than the wine bottle experiment later that night, and certainly
safer than the explosion this year. That could've been quite nasty.

That's the before, the after is the next pic in the album. It'd have
been hard to get a shot of the moment things went bang, particularly as
the cannister and barbecue were about 30 feet apart (and rising) by
    then.

Oh, yeah. I'd forgotten about that. I would've expected the perpetrator
of that stunt to have more sense.
It was a stupid idea putting all that cardboard on anyway.

Yeah, chalk me up for horse too. They love it in Italy, especially
