Got the Revere registered today, and the roadworthy was painless. First
run on the road and the motor runs reasonably smoothly, should be great
for an around town hack. No obvious nasties.

I've ridden it to and from work for the last couple of days and it's not
bad, plenty of poke around town.

There's a lot to be said for a standard type middleweight twin. Good
all round bikes without pretensions of grandeur.

Hmmm.. Used to be a 350 was a middleweight. Given that in my garage I
have an 850 and a 1200, and there are a lot of over 1 litre bikes out
    there now...

    Is the 850 now a middleweight[1] and a 650 a tiddler?

    Zebee
    - who figures that makes the 180cc scooter a moped....

[1] although calling 240+kg of Guzzi anything but a heavyweight seems
a bit silly. Anyone in Sydney want to come round on a weekend and
exchange "I'll guilt you into finishing the damn thing" for beer?

I cant see anything over 700 or so being called anything but a heavy ,
lets be honest many don't have the 40 years or more riding some here do
and certainly many would find a 1 litre beyond their abilites when
opened up . 350 might be considered a tidly but every time I thrash the
    R5 around town I wonder .

    I reckon it's getting to a 1000 being a middleweight!

Yesterday, a few of us decided to do lunch up at the Catho pub.

In a rare spirit of broadmindedness, I invited my mate Murphy to come
    with us.

We met up at Pie in the Sky, and Murphy's Fiat X1/9, at 1300 cc, was
smaller in engine capacity than quite a few of the bikes parked there.

BTW, lunch was very nice, weather was excellent, right up until the last
wee bit home from PITS, when, still with my sunnies on, I had trouble
seeing where I was going in the dark, and got slightly rained on.

We ended up with only four bikes (including a token Guzzi!) and two
cars, making it to the pub.

    regards,

I must admit, I've been enjoying the run into work, and able to have fun
    without reaching licence losing speeds.
Seems to be ever creeping up. I'm guessing the likes of the Z650 Kwak
pushed the 650 bracket into the middleweight field when there was the
    likes of the Z1000.
BT said your place was just around the corner from here...

Given BT's facility with directions, that probably means you are in
    Newcastle.

I'm in Campsie. The Sydney one.
