I threw a spare battery into the outfit this afternoon, put the choke
on, pressed the button and after about 2 or 3 cranks of the engine it
fired up. If that shocked me I was even more shocked when it didn't
keep stalling and just sat there chugging away on tickover until it
had warmed up nicely and the smoke had cleared.

I've waved a hosepipe over it to clear off all the cobwebs and cat fur
    (1) so it looks slightly less manky, moved it from it's last resting
place so it can be shifted out onto the drive and it's going tomorrow
    morning.

The guy buying it's convinced it'll fit into the back of his mates van
    (2) so they're leaving Rochdale at 6am with the aim of getting home
early enough to start 'having a look at it'. I don't know whether I
should come clean about the fact that German plod are probably still
looking out for it but as long as he has the V5 proving he only bought
it this year he should be ok when he goes to the Elefant next year.

    (1) One of the cats used to sleep under the bike cover if she was
locked out in the daytime. It was obviously a nice comfortable seat
and the cover kept her dry so it was better than the nearest bush.

    (2) We might need to remove the sidecar mudguard and the RH mirror pod
    to achieve this.

    and guess what happened?
We had to remove the mirror and mudguard but it still fouled on the
wheel arch covers inside the van so a couple of trolley jacks were
brought into play and it finally fitted.

I don't know how they'll get it out but that's not me problem.
