Heh. If it works as out as hoped, I *may* be able to trade up from an
    E34 535i to an E34 M5 :)

Does this mean you won't be coming over for a visit anymore then?

My mate has just indeed bought himself an E34 M5 - lovely it is.

That one there. I helped swop his stereo over to it yesterday. I doesn't
'alf go some, and the sound it makes as you near 7krpm is just *lovely*.

If that is as good as it looks, tell him to look after it well. The e34 M5
*will* appreciate in value. £7k is a very, very good price indeed.
And yes, they do sound superb at higher revs.

As long as he brings more Guinness, I'm good with that.

Some people tend to get their Alpinas (which are indeed converted by
Sytners in Nottingham for the UK market) with the other expensive BMW
    stuff.

Oh, I will - just means I'll be paying for all of it and not only for
the majority of the cost like I already did.

But then again I probably won't have to pay for it out of taxed income
    :)

    :)

I've been lurking a bit on the German M5 message board and still don't
know if I'd be daft enough to buy one as they seem to be even more
fragile than I had expected. I mean FFS, they're talking about cars
with 90-100k (miles) stating "oh yeah, they should have an engine
rebuild and the front suspension rebuilt as well".

That's not *quite* the quality that I expected from BMW.
Pity I don't like the shape of them. I'm more tempted by a good 635 but
I somehow think that I'd something more practical as the main car.

    I say, sir...

The VFR is still holding together. My guess is it'll let go tomorrow as
the GS is going to its new owner today.

  20. I signed a new contract this week. Unfortunately the Prof. hadn't
seen the results of the latest PPARC grant when he had to sign the papers
so it's only for two years, not four.
