It'll never cure the traffic problems...

    The Millau Viaduct, that is.

When (If?) Chez-Wavy is completed in the summer and if any ukrm-ers fancy a
blast out the I can definitely recommend the D911 from Cahors - Millau and
then a few other road on the way back. Good variation in road
types/surfaces and twisties then 2km straights then more twisties and nary a
car to be seen (except mine... and it *was* -3 degrees when I went out on
Sunday and the roads *were* a tad snowy and icy most of the way).

But as per the title, the new Millau viaduct ain't gonna solve their
horrendous congestion problems, IMHO, as everyone will probably do what I
did and drive into town, gawp up at it and then have lunch, drive out of the
South of the town and then do a 180 and drive back on the bridge-y thing.
And very impressively tall it is too (think Sydney Anzac bridge but 3km long
and a fair bit taller and you get the idea).

But then it ought to be good for E4.90.. That's only 30c cheaper than the
total for the pay roads all the way from Cahors to Toulouse....!

Overpriced for beer and full of old men who smell of garlic... It's a small
    village with one bar.

Some of the bars in Cahors, however... Still overpriced(try £3-5 for a pint
depending on beer of choice - wine, of course is much nicer to drink and far
cheaper) but full of young women. Who smell of garlic covered up with
    expensive perfume.

That said my cellar is being converted quite nicely and, even with the new
central heating stuff in there (cool touch, but oil(i.e. diesel) powered so
a tad smelly if the wind blows the wrong way), I reckon I can easily fit
half a dozen bikes in it and have standing room for all the riders to pick
booze out from the planned wine racks/beer fridges etc that I'm going to
install around the wallspace that doesn't have various bits of NS400 hanging
    off it.

I love Cahors. Had a fantastic holiday there in about 86/87.

We had a round of lager in Monte Carlo on the MV tour last year - 15
    pints - £165.
