It's a shame my brother isn't on UKRM

Cos from the snippets I'm hearing, his current adventure (7 weeks
touring on his Vincent) would give the Alps trip a run for its money in
    the disaster & lunacy stakes.

Collapsing luggage racks, police chases in Turkey & Greece & even angry
locals with pitchforks have been mentioned so far. And that's in the
    first ten days!

Me too! He's a techno-luddite though so it'll have to wait 'til he
    returns.

Rank amateur. We managed an armed roadblock by day eight.

Huh riders in NI could manage one of those every week.

Doesn't count unless they set it up just for you.

Quiet day over there I guess.
Hold on isn't it GP day?

    Fantastic!

We were making sensible progress Southbound on the A1 last Saturday, as
the distinct silhouette of a nold Britter slipped slowly into view. I
nudged Elly and mentioned it, then checked our speed (as you have to,
these days) to see we were doing NSL+25 ... just wafting homeward. We
overhauled the bike and the boys were delighted to watch the old
Vincent slip slowly past the car and then behind. It sounded just
wonderful and he was going very well, with no sign of stress,
maintaining a steady 80 or so.

They don't want any more deaths?

I know this will sound really cynical but people will always get
killed racing on public roads so as long as the riders keep going and
the organisers keep putting the racing on you'll get fatalities.

I'm just glad that I've never had to deal with a major incident when
I've been marshalling and long may that continue.

Yerr. I know. But maybe with two down it was felt better to stop it at
    that.

I wonder what the figures are for the total number of miles ridden by
people competing when you factor in qualifying and racing because I'm
sure it's a hell of a lot more than the number completed at last weeks
Moto GP meeting where a youngster died in a support race.

How many spectator deaths at the Bol d'Or? When I attended it at Le
Castillet the Frogs raced up hill to the circuit as if any problem would end
in a joke as in the Joe Bar Team stories...

It is not that easy to take Greek and Turkish authorities to a common
point of agreement. The UN should send your brother to Cyprus, maybe.

(as expressed by SanGlas in es.charla.moteros, which made oi larf).
