Thank you to the bike copper that helped out when I dropped my bike in
the entrance to the services on the A50 on 18/10/08.
Thanks are also due to the car driver behind and the lorry driver that
    helped out.
I'm recovering with bust ribs and a broken collarbone. The bike is
    scrap.

  4. How can you write off a bike in a service station? What bike was it
    anyway?

I dropped it on the sliproad going into the services. I can't go into
any details as I've yet to be interviewed by the boys in blue.. It was
a '98 Deauville, repair estimate 5K (frame bent all fairings smashed,
clocks smashed), value of bike naff all.

Bad luck on dropping it but £5k for a '98 Dullville? You need to go to
    hospital because you're obviously concussed.

Ooooh! I've done those, but at different times. you, my unknown
friend, are in for about 6 weeks of pain. But at leat you're up and
running, and a shower is possible, so get well soon, and don't be such
a clumsy bugger next time :)

  18. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, BGN
Given that the accident happened nearly two weeks ago, do you not think
he's figured out what's needed by now?

I'm surprised BGN hasn't offered to go round with some poppers to
relieve the tense feeling he has.
