It passed the MOT this morning.

Now to strip the carbs. It has eased off a bit but still nowhere near full
    power.

I remember the old race bike. Almost everytime we dropped it we had to clean
    the carbs.

Really? I thought they looked OK.

What do you think about the black tyres?

I suspect one of us has rather unusual taste.
Fortunately black goes with anything. But it does make me wonder
whether those coloured remould things are available in pink. I think
    you should investigate.

No 1 cylinder wasn't firing and No 2 cylinder was intermittent. No1
sparkplug didn't spark and No2 HT lead had a problem. I've changed all the
plugs and sorted the leads out. It's really sweet now and does it go.

  13. Whaat? The stock 16T is too small. Your chain will last about 1000 km.

Notorious for problems with the coils. Several times I've had to
limp back to the dealer on three. Coils are not well shielded from the
elements (i.e. rain) and if enormous care isn't taken with the rubber boots
on the plug caps water gets down into the plug wells.
Check/replace plugs (it's only a one-hour job...), and drain all
float bowls (best done with a flexi-drive hex-ball driver IIRC, or was
    that an 8mm socket?)

  15. Sorry, Dr Gower, I was away in Guildford all week. With next-to-no
internet access. (How can that happen at an Institute of Physics conference?)

    You're forgiven young man.

The last thing I want at conference was an internet connection.
