Oh. Now theres a let down - I was potentially lining one of those up
if and when I get another bike. I remember when the V-Tec came out -
we all thought it was ugly, however it aged well. That? That's going
    to age like Jordan.

The front is odd (and I bet no where near as effective as the four-
bulb V-tec), it's still got CBS and WTF is that exhaust? A beautiful
single swing arm, completely blotted out by a gramaphone.

K1300S suddenly looks much more appealing...

Looks like something out of Tron. Almost as bad as the Voxan GT or
    whatever it's called.

It can bugger off back where it came from too.

Its fugly. Looks are an individual thing. I rather liked the VFR750. Not too
keen on the 800, though it is sort of OK. That fugs.

Big deal with the shaft drive. FFS, my old XJ650 had a brilliant and
uncomplicated shaft drive. Guzzis and BMWs have had torque/rise control
systems for years. Nowt new there. Sliding joint?. Err, since when has that
    been an innovation.

Why complicate the engine so much?. Why does anyone need such a complicated
gearbox system?. What possible benefit will it offer. I think it was MCN
that did a feature on the twin clutch 'flappy paddle' style box. Corporate
    willy waving.

It fugs big style with that comedy tuba of an exhaust.

Did they let an art student loose with some shrooms, a bottle of poppers and
    some crayons?

Judas Priest. What's going on with that end can. And it's taken a few
    punches to its face.

Is this the fabled 1200 Blackbird we were promised years ago ?

Actually it looks better in black and from the side .. very Suzuki-ish

It's this Euro emmisions thing innit? They're all throwing huge dustbins on
the back these days. Unfortunately, it looks like they threw one at the
    front of this thing too.

What's the point in buying an ugly bike. You still have to love it in
some way, wash it & polish it.

I think the 955i is the ugliest bike in my fleet at the moment, it's
fine from the side, but from the front it's all wrong, but it still
has a certain "big trailie" appeal.

Having now fettled the K+N and the Exhaust, it also goes like stink,
so I can forgive its aesthetic foibles ...

  16. Bod (Douglas) who's just bought my KRS wanted to know that it fuelled
well at low revs, so I stuck him on the pillion, put it into third, and
pointed it up our hill at 1000rpm, and away it went.

    Impressed, he was.

Sad to flog that bike, actually, because it would have shared my daily
    80-mile commute perfectly.

I'm not that opposed to huge dustbin exhausts, I understand that they're
pretty much inevitable with today's emission laws. My problem is with
companies trying to make said dustbins look anything but reasonable by
trying to "streamline" the design or whatnot (my gripe applies to the RSV4
and several Gixxers as well). Just put a simple shape with a roundish hole
on one end FFS, it will still be huge and ugly but at least it won't look
    that hopeless.

As for the VFR's general design.... I don't really like it but I'll wait in
case I get more used to it with time. Doubt it though, particularly because
the arse is too small given the enormity of the front and makes the whole
    look unbalanced.
