Me too, & jolly nice it is too. Unlike lager & lime, which is horrible
    sickly stuff.

Why not just drink beer that doesn't need its flavour masking with lime?

#2 son bought me a 4-pack of portuguese "Super Bock" lemon flavoured
    beer. It's fucking gopping.

  8. I can understand beer and lime, even with a dash of salt - but why do
you wedge the lime in the neck?

Haha. If that's not a coded way of telling you he thinks you're a ****,
    I don't know what is.

nah - his "coded way of telling me he thinks I'm a ****" is that he's
asked me to start teaching him how to cook. Oh, and I meant #1 son.
Last thing #2 son bought me was a "Chase & Status" CD,
    so...yeah...same rules apply.

  12. To stop the flies getting into your beer.

They are often attracted to Mexican beer for some reason?

I scrapped plans to convert to LPG heating in Belfast for this reason and
because they refused to allow me to tap in for SO's LPG car.

Drinking lager marks you out as a particular sort of man, regardless.
As does frequenting pubs that don't sell decent beer.

And he does that because that's what his boss has told him to do, and
his boss has told him to do that because that's what the marketing
people from the brewery or pubco told him to do.

  16. You might think that, but you and your sort are among the minority when
you look at the world 'beer' drinking numbers.
Which, outside of Uk and some European countries, can often be quite
    hard to achieve.

Besides, on a hot day, in a hot place, such as, California, or even
say, Mexico - I'd much rather drink a decent cold Mexican beer[1], than
I would a pint of bitter/ale or a decent Belgian.

[1] Pacifico, Modelo Especial, Dos Equis etc.

This is why god invented Guinness. Problem solved.

  19. You'd have to be *really* selective about where you drank, and probably
have to drive for the privilege, to get draft Guinness in the situation
    above.

Goodness is fine in Ireland in pubs where they look after the pumps and have
a high turnover of product. It doesn't keep so long in the keg and once the
keg is open it's best used up in 48 hours. IMHO and of those who really
    know.
I've tried it further abroad and it always seems 'orrible.
