It's only money

A quick blast this morning has proved to me that my Schoei Multitec
crash helmet is great on the Yam or the outfit but on the 10R it's a
steaming pile of crap. It's got a tendency to push backwards at high
speeds even though it feels as if it's a perfectly good fit when I try
to wiggle it about when I'm off the bike.

I'd better go for a trip to Heine Gericke and see what they've got
that appeals (and fits) and I expect it'll either be another Schoei or
an Arai. My previous Schoei was brilliant so I suspect it's the flip
front design that's causing the problem at speed.

It's a good job I'm off to Dublin on Sunday where I'll be paid extra
expenses for being out of the UK because that'll pay for the crash
    helmet.

X-spirit Andy, the best for my shaped head by far. I got rid of my
    multitec too.

Write out 100 times 'Schoei is spelt Shoei'.

Shoei are just about to bring out a new XR1100, so you might be able
to find good deals on the XR1000's, which are really nice lids.

    M&P have a plain black XR1100 for £300. The plain black XR1000 is £325.

They have the entry level Arai, in black, for £199, which is what I would
get if I needed a new helmet. HG want another £30 IIRC.

I've been too busy pissing about changing the brake pads on the 10R to
pay any attention to what's been going on today and try to cause any
    unrest.

I know I normally reckon they don't need any bedding in but these ones
feel as if they might do because they're great at dragging the bike
down from high speeds but they feel as if they're about to have me
doing somersaults when I brake at town speeds.

The Carbone Lorraine pads I've put in the thou were highly effective
from the moment they were put in the calipers but clearly needed bedding
in. They make a wicked sound as they drag on the rotors under braking
    though.

Second that. I really like my XR1000. Quiet and light.

Blimey, I paid £260 for my plain black XR1000 from J&S in Brum.

I ended up buying a Raid II because it felt as if it was the best fit
after trying numerous Arai and Shoei helmets.

It was just under £250 and I suppose I could have tried one on in
Heine Gericke then ordered it on line and saved some money but I
couldn't be bothered with the hassle factor.

There hasn't been any really, just some shit about carrying spare bulbs.
Heh, the Bendix feel the same. Did a gentle 30 miles last night with
the new pads & tyres to bed things in a bit, so should be ready for
some suspension setup hoonage on Sunday.

I paid £230, because that chap at Pidcocks did me a decent discount as
I'd just had my bike serviced.

I just went and tried some leathers on. Apparently I'm now a right
fat **** because my old ones (that were always a bit too tight for my
liking) are 40 chest, 30 waist, whereas I now seem to need 44 and 32.

Didn't buy them as RST feel a bit nasty compared to the wolf stuff, so
I'm going to try and find something nicer.

Condor in plain black, it's what discerning riders such as Champ, Monz
    and myself wear.

I'm old school - I have its forebear, the RV which is probably coming to
the end of its service life. Good enough for one last trip to the Alps
    though.

  20. I have a Raid II in matt black - cost me £230 from P&H Crawley. Light
as anything, doesn't buffet around a lot, very comfy, looks great -
    it's excellent.
