I paid £260 for my plain black XR1000 from J&S in Brum.
I'm sure I paid £220, but I was still sulking because some northern
retailer totally failed to hold a matt black one they ordered in
specially for me so I seem to recall getting a chunk of discount of a
    larger figure.

I've got one of those too in satin silver/grey - it's my track lid.

You could have got a double bubble visor.

  4. WTF? I'm fatter than you? When did that happen? :)

I can easily get into my 32" full leathers[1] but generally buy 34"
    waist trousers.

[1] Hein Gericke Tribal from about 10 years ago, only get used for track
days, so not at all really, I ought to Nige them out.

I have to admit that the final straw for getting rid of the CBR600RR was
the pressure on my face from the sustained high speed stuff on long
runs. Even with a double bubble *screen*.
    Double heh.

It'd be helpful if they wrote it on the helmet, legibly in huge
    letters ...

    ;)
