... and could be damned hazardous on the roads later on.

Temperature dropped to -1 earlier and the cars outside were white with
frost; then it got relatively warmer, up to +3 and it rained gently,
melting some of the frost. Now it has dropped to +1 and ice is
forming on the car roofs and screens.

    Be careful out there.

Bit chilly this AM here in S. London. The main hazard being all the
salt the councils have heaped thickly on road junctions and at random
    elsewhere.
I know it's been said before but the cure seems to be worse than the
    disease.

It was ok just after midnight, when I went grocery shopping, I think I
can stay in for the rest of today.

I've been trying to put up a steel shed/bike garage since before Christmas
but the panels keep blowing over. I was nearly a human kite last week when I
didn't have the strength to hold on.

The sudden change caught out my old (150,000 miles) diesel pug this
morning. First time ever it has refused to start in two years. I
treated it to new glow plugs before winter and even before then it
would always catch and run in the coldest of conditions.

Wondering if the rapid transition from balmy conditions on Friday to
sub-zero today might have created some condensation in the tank as it
is pretty low. I never did get round to changing the fuel filter. Not
inclined to start fiddling to check glow plugs and fuel system for fear
    of brass monkey effect.

I spent a few hours in the garage last night, laying upside down in the
Corvette with my head buried in the dashboard sorting out some wiring.
The confined space & weird angles I had to form my arms into meant
    bulky clothing was out.

I'm sure my willy will reappear eventually.

Does the jacket have built in connectors for the gloves or do you have
to use the additional supply cables that come with the gloves?

  20. Bird-bath was frozen over when I went out to hack up my fallen
Ceanothus. Soon discovered that the hand rip-saw was faster than the
powered reciprocating saw[1], so I didn't notice the cold much...
