    Not overly flattering...

She didn't have a bike jacket with her, so I lent her mine.

There were other casualties of the Guzzi's oscillations that day, but
it's not my place to tell those tales.

I think you and LN would differ on definitions of "low seat height".

Buy any Jap 400cc grey import and spray it with Halfords finest.

You should have had my old FZR250 and chucked a 400 engine in it.

    A cat d 1987 NC24 with fucked fork seals isn't worth £500. Sorry but
    that's life.

It gets a bad rap because so many people did their training on the emasculated
restricted version which is a real dog. If they tried a proper one
    they would be more impressed.

Not a rocket, but a good allrounder with as much performance as most
people can reasonably handle for more than a few minutes at a time.

Not the right image as a virility substitute for the midlife crisis
    donors^Wriders though. B-).

  10. What you want is a ZRX 1100.

You don't feel the weight so much.

    Perfect compact girlie bike.

  11. ER6-F, far, far better than the clanking carbuncle of 70s technology
    the GS500 is.

Chap at work has one in black, and it's no bigger than a race rep 400,
prettier, more comfortable and very reasonably priced.

Life is a series of ups and downs. The ups are okay. The downs are
    particularly unpleasant.
    Emailed, cheers.

Nonsense - The GS500 was announced in 1987. There was an old model with the
same name but that was a totally different 4 cylinder machine.

A product life of 20+ years just proves that they got it right.

  18. Actually, that was a GS550 (although it was sleeved down to 500cc for
some markets). And the GS500's engine goes back to the GS450 of the
early 1980s, which was itself a development of the GS400 twin of the
    late 1970s.
Not necessarily. But it proves the package was sellable, yes.

All it proves is that some people are stuck in the 70s and will buy any
    old shit.
