    When I was in the Auvergne a few year ago, I drove up to quite near the
    summit of Mont de Mezenc - nice dry road, blazing sunshine - then parked and
    trudged up to the top in hip-deep snow. Brilliant, it was. This would have
    been around Easter time, though.
