Literally rather than figuratively this time, unfortunately.

A couple of days ago my Funkytown neighbours[1] told me that the front
gate was open. They also said they'd driven up to the sheds and had a
quick look around, but everything still seemed to be in order.

Today I went out there, and discovered that some horrid creature has
nicked my Husqvarna chainsaw, my chinese chainsaw, my generator, my #2
toolbox and my water pump. For some inexplicable reason they weren't
interested in my bicycle collection, the BBQ gas bottles, any of the
assorted fuel jerry cans or Tim's tent.

It's a bummer, but the ~$1500 loss is still less than 4 years worth of
contents insurance would have been for an unattended shed on a
weekender block. I'm annoyed with myself for not bringing at least
the generator and chainsaws back to town before heading off to New
Zealand, but if I'd done that I may well have found solar panels with
thrown-brick damage and an incinerated ruin of a caravan. The shed
next door (on the for-sale block) has had a window broken and a
generator nicked out of it, too.

On the positive side, they didn't light the bonfire, and the grass is
slightly greener than it was back in May. Unaugural 6.1 is therefore
    still scheduled (for now).

In other positive news, today's testing revealed that my new hunting
bow[2] has a maximum range in excess of 200m[3].

    [2] 60" wooden recurve, 55lb draw weight

    to fully draw it

  2. Perhaps we should have more events at Funkytown. That way they may
think some crazy people are there on a permanent basis?

Do you want an instruction manual? I have 2 of them here that are of
    no further use to me.

Get the thief to tell you his address BT; I'm sure you wouldn't mind
dropping over and applying choke yourself!

If I were to find them, I was thinking of some activity involving that
    new bow of mine.

But realistically, I'll never be seeing any of that stuff again. If
the thief has any sense they'll be selling it somewhere at least a
    hundred km away.

I would have thought from the anniversary post that his choking days
    were over? ;-)
