SWMBO's learning, but TBC is the expert IIRC.

    Fantic *and* Hiro parts!

Moto Morini as well, even better. Oh, deflated, no Gilera parts.

    Al Vostro servizio, egregi professori.

I can do phone calls as well, if need be.

I know! Did I mention I'd cum? Fantic parts aren't usually too
difficult to source, apart from the bit I really need of course (carb
boot), but I've been searching for Hiro engine parts every week or two
for as long as I can remember without any joy.

Thanks, I think I've got it covered care of the Italians we met on the
Alps trip, but whilst their English is very good, I don't know if it
extends to things like 'gudgeon pin'. I'll see how it goes.

With enough grappa to lubricate things, I think you might be right.

    Eww, you sick puppy!

It gets better though, turns out our friendly Italians from the Alps
trip live 30Km away, & Luca's offered to collect any bits for me. I
feel another circumnavigation of France (wiv a bit of Italy) coming
on. EOFSM - Barcelona - ferry to Genoa - collect bits - smile sweetly
at Ace - home. A hell of a lot more expensive than getting them
    posted, but much more fun.

Indeed. My trip to Arcore and Frigerio's Aladdin's cave at Canonica
d'Adda for Gilera parts was a real experience.

Worst case, I've got a road trip in the car to Misano planned for next
    year.

'was a real experience' implies you're a bit late. Oh, you've done a
    hog haven't you.
    Sure.

Champ. He replied to you, but as you can't 'count him in' on a trip
you've already done, I'm guessing his reply was aimed at me.

Ah, ISWYM. Go for it though, I managed with a lot of pointing at things
(it helps if you are on the bike of the type you want bits for - not an
option for you I know!) and a Collins Gem Italian dictionary.

You got that right! I rode it from Dartford to Thame once. Not saying
it wasn't a pleasant experience, but I left it there & got the train
    home.

Identification shouldn't be a problem though, I'm pretty sure the
engine didn't change at all during its short life, & the rest of it
(Fantic RC125) is very obviously '79 or '80 judging by the photos I've
    found.

    They've got a '78, '79, '80 & '81 in the vintage racing museum in
Bergamo, which just happens to be on the direct route to/from Faenza. A
visit there is a must at some point.
