Heh, I briefly had the SWM 250 (Rotax disc valve) on the road as it
started life as a road registered enduro bike. By then though, I had
grafted on the Marzocchi fork legs from a Morini 350 with a 2LS drum
brake and fitted shorter Koni rear shocks. On suitable gearing it was
actually great fun (described by one person who road it as a "pocket
rocket"). The direct lighting system didn't last long with my Zener
    diode bodge though.

I meant to get to the Guzzi museum at Mandello but we were only in
    Milan/Monza for 5 days.

Chatting in pidgin Italian to the pickets at the old Gilera works in
Arcore was interesting (closed for Gilera production the year before I
went, but they were still picketing the entrance). We also noted down
some of the graffiti on the walls which SWMBO's mate who is a journalist
on 'Il Giorno' translated for us. E.g. "the Agnellis are little bits of
    shit."
