Ride what you like. I like my 883 custom and I couldn't care less what
anyone else thinks. It goes in tomorrow for the 883 to 1200 conversion. I
could have done it myself but I am short of time at the moment so I am
willing to pay to get it done. As I am retaining the 883 sprockets
(pulleys) it should be fairly quick off the line when the conversion is
done. The way I look at it, whatever you buy somebody here will says its
crap so just get what you like and enjoy it.

2004 rubber mounted engine. I'm having the dished Wiseco pistons fitted so
the engine balance shouldn't be affected much and I can keep the 883 heads.

Nobody criticizes Gixxer 1000, 750 or early ZX-10R's!!

HD, bless 'em, stopped matching the cranks to piston weight years ago,
now (well, to 03 anyway, I'm pretty sure 04-on are the same) they do one
crank which is "balanced" roughly midway between 883 and 1200 piston
    weights.

    Good eh?

  18. Nice. Obviously, you buy a bike like that for its looks rather than,
say, handling or performance, and it does look like a beauty, doesn't
    it?

If I had unlimited funds and garage space, I'd have a collection that
    included something similar for sure.
