No, but I did think of you (as ukrm's only Norfolk resident, AFAIK)
after just spending 10 days in Norfolk - Buxton/Lammas area to be exact.

SWMBO & I loved it. Most of all I liked the North coast around Cley and
    Blakeney.

It's moved to the top of the list as a place to retire.

  2. There did look to be some very nice 'bike' roads around there. Also it
looked more 'remote' on the way there than a lot of places.
That's it. Got it in one!
I was told when I mentioned my trip in the pub last night that
Ingoldmells has more caravans in one area than anywhere else in England.
I was amazed listening to people and how restricted/odd their speech
was. I'm not taking a dig at area accents, I'm talking about adults not
being able to communicate without inserting a swear word after each
    word.

  3. I think there are others.
If you visit Cley ( rhymes with fry ) you *must* go to the smoke house
there. But be warned, don't go if you are hungry. Jane and I often on
bike or car take a day out that way. Having stopped at the smoke house
and bought far too much we have sometimes made it as far as the first
    pull-in before attacking the food.
    Oak smoked prawns..................

I dive off of a RIB, some times out of Morston or Trimmingham.
The north coast has some fantastic pubs with wonderful food to stop at
on the way home or just to visit.

Ah, right. I knew it didn't end with an -ay sound - I thought it was
    an -ee sound.

Anyhoo, we were in the area to visit the Cley Marshes reserve & to see
    the seals at Blakeney Point.
    Damn-and-blast-it! I knew I should have started a "where to go/what to
do in Norfolk" thread before I went.
I've never dived in this country. Too bloody cold for me!
Indeed. Our local one in Buxton was nothing much to look at from the
outside but did a nice pint of Woodforde's Sundew (as well as Wherry)
and had a great restaurant to boot.

We'll definitly go back to N. Norfolk sometime soon.

I pressed the invade Poland button on Platys Ural. Made it to the end of
the car park and changed gear into Italian invasion mode and started
    reversing.

  6. Just thought of another pub along there. The Red Lion in Stiffkey on the
A149. Good beer, good food and you can park a car towing a 6 meter RIB
    behind the pub.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.

You have been remarkably silent on the oil pressure light matter or
    have I missed something?

  15. Some of these 'people' were even dividing up words and inserting a swear
word. One overheard conversation included the word:

    Abso-f**king-lutely

Which was the loud answer to a question I didn't hear.

Round here they omit nearly all the other words - e.g. "So I fuckin'
fucked the fuckin' fucker!", heard outside St James'. [1]

[1] It was pointed out to me that words that can be used as an adverb,
a verb, an adjective and a noun in one and the same sentence are rare.

It's the modern equivalent of a split infinitive. my vocabulary isn't
really what I'd call limited, but I am a sweary little bugger at the
    best of times.

Hell, I occasionally find myself inserting the odd "fuckin" without even
having a verb, noun or fuckin adjective to follow - the sentence just
kind of trails off with a lingering air of profanity. Fuckin' great!
