The thing about the Halvarssons jacket is that the Goretex-type layer is on
the outside, and the abrasion-resistant layer is underneath. This means
that you don't get the drenched outer layer that you get with the Cordura
outer/Goretex liner model and the jacket is warm without extra layering, as
the dry inner protective layer also traps air. You could probably
approximate the effect by putting a decent Goretex hill-walking jacket over
the top of your normal jacket.

Me too, and it's pretty good, I would recommend one. I got a "Trax"
model which is the textile version of my leather jacket.

The only gripe I've got is that the pockets aren't waterproof. I don't
think I'd want to crash in it either IYSWIM, as it's pretty lightweight
& doesn't feel like it would take much tarmac surfing.

I don't know why, by I was thinking of you height-wise, not waist-wise.
    I must have had a brain-fart.

It's actually good for about 100 yards if you rotate between shoulders,
    knees and backside.

I bought the exact same one after as it had done its job well.
