Jacket suggestions pls

    Kevin's probably tried that. I know I have. They were, and possibly still
    are, quite popular in the tropics, squire.
    I think that's been tried too. I've never come across motorcycle gear that
    could withstand a tropical thunderstorm.

    My riding outfit has proved to be 99.99% waterproof in a bucketing down
    rainstorms, been wearing it for 5 years and would not buy anything else, its
    a Areostich Roadcrafter

    This in combination with Alpinestar Gortex boots, BMW Gortex gloves, a
    heated vest and heated grips keeps me warm dry and comfortable.
