Went to purchase the leather jacket that is mentioned in the other thread.
Well 3 of the zip handles broke when trying it on. He put leather strips to
replace them and said that was better but that was enough for me to say no
thankyou and walkout. Ended up at local bike shop and brought a Dryrider
Summit 2 jacket instead. It has body armour but it felt very comfortable so
I wont take it out ( if thats possible ) . Now I have contributed to fine
weather for our trip up to Gold Coast on Thursday/Friday

As for the tyre I purchased, well I made a bad mistake in getting the
Roadtec Z6. I feel very uncomfortable cornering on the bike and my
confidence has gone. The bike just feels so bloody different and I am scared
to lean over to much. Should have stuck to the Sports tyre and settled for
    less mileage.

Leather shoelaces cut to length make the best zip handles. You can do the
whole jacket and your boot zips for a couple of dollars.

  3. Poor choice of zipper manufacturer shouldn't necessarily reflect poor
workmanship on his part; I've had to replace all of my zip handles with
rings during the first six months of my jacket's life (and no, it's not one
    of his jackets).
I've got a Nordic 2 jacket here which I've worn twice; feels mighty
comfortable whilst riding, but trying to do anything with my arms off the
bike (including straightening them) is nigh impossible.
Give it a couple of hundred kilometres to settle (and for you to get used to
it). Though its usability on your trip will ultimately depend on your choice
    of route.

Have to agree with Bob here. I put Z6 on my R1200RT about 3,000 km
    ago and it's very fine.

Mind you I'm not about to scrape anything so I won't say it's good for
    anyone else's riding style.

You'll still cream the HD's on the trip Will.

I put the Z6 on my Sprint RS due to main commute being straight flat roads.

Can't say that they're a bad tyre at with 15000+ kilometers and still going
strong. I must admit that greasy, negative cambered roundabouts are not this
    tyres (or riders) favourites.

I have an R6 on my R1100RT. 3500km around Tassie and worn from edge to
edge. Kept up with everything but the true sports bikes. Great tyre
    wet or dry.
Not only that but I got 27000km out of that particular tyre, with the
    wear indicators just showing.

    Recommend them every time.

I am not worried about the HD's but I wont rubbish them after my recent
problems . Anyway on the way home if the weather is still good ( I am a
softcock ) I will leave them at Port Macquarie and head west and down the
Thunderbolt Way. Not thats were I want utter confidence in the tyres.

His workmanship most probabley was good but it was enough to make me look
    elsewhere
This one is ok, I have it on whislt typing this

Have already done around 400 k's and the route up is pretty much straight up
the Hwy but coming home will probably see me go my own way ( Thunderbolt
    Way )
