James Toseland

Just got a signed copy of his autobiography from an in-store signing
at Ottakar's bookshop, Carlisle. Had a chance for a small chat; seems
to be a very pleasant, and not-at-all up himself bloke. Good luck to
him.

In fairness I met, albeit in a group, Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla
last weekend and as nice as they were the plant behind them hand more
personality.

 

Bear in mind the material they were dealing with, as in you, and maybe it's
easy to see why they came across in such a way.

Admittedly I paid full retail for the book, but that was all I paid. A
good friend of mine arranges all the signings and appearances for that
particular branch; it comes out of the shop's promotions budget (of
course, I know how it works, that's paid for out of the profits from
mugs buying books at full retail). She said he couldn't have been
nicer to work with, and quite wanted to take him home for some
reason...
