    Folks,
what's the rules about riding from Cooma to Corryong via Jindabyne?
I went through there for the first and only time last year and there were
all sorts of signs telling me I needed to purchase a permit to be in the
National Park but, being a cheapskate-ignoramus, I rationalised that I
wasn't visiting I was just riding through so I didn't stop.
There's been no repercussions but should I have stopped? Is it a toll road?
    Thanks ..... Clem

last time I was there, if you are just riding through, no toll.. the
toll both is just before Thredbo
if you want to stop in Thredbo, you have to pay...

I didnt pay and I stopped...

My understanding is that in theory, you have to pay to use roads
controlled by National Parks and Wildlife. In practice I have found
the toll booth operators to be pretty lenient if they know you are
just passing through. I imagine they would crack down if they found
that their concessions (if that's what they are) were being exploited
    though.

Every time that we've been through, from Tintaldra across to Merimbula on our
annual ride up that way there has never been anyone manning the "toll" booths. I
thought that like in Victoria, they were only operational during the snow
    season.
