  4. Low teens? Blimey. Better off in a call centre one would think.

OH, I know - I've been thinking about going back contracting.

I had one guy in my team, doing infrastructure PMing, for around a
year on £110/hour...nice work if you can get it.

I was wondering how to explain to my boss why I'm feeling particulalry
unmotivated at present, and you've managed it in a sentence.

Out of interest, what's the cutover point where it's worth going ltd vs
    being a sole trader?

  7. Depends if you want to protect your personal assets or not...

Yes, Ltd Co is more work but I wouldn't dream of going sole trader again
    these days. BTDTLTT.

Contract through an Isle of Man entity and **** them off.

darsy, you didn't mention the particular application?

Yup - I was prepared for that.

I offered a job that is primarily for an admin assistant with flexible hours
to suit child care arrangements (with a bit of nonce about them that can
help us out with marketing maybe) and the conversation drifts to people
    earning £110 an hour.

For the sake of clarity - I am not offering £110 an hour but if anyone knows
of the job opening that is then I will apply myself!

I did so, last August, when the project was completed.
Sadly, there's no new hiring during the current re-org, and **** knows
if I'll be in the position to do so afterwards.

My thoughts exactly. I don't work in IT but that seems like feck all pay to
me for someone expected to have some practical experience / knowhow. OTOH
I've never worked in sales and they might all be paid that way - I've only
ever seen sales jobs as "OTE" in the paper, so I suppose that's likely.

Especially in Cardiff. BT, SWALEC, Admiral Insurance, & British Gas have
huge call centres there. More money plus the opportunity to play STI bingo
with loads of cock loving men & women. According to my bi-sexual mate, Rod,
    anyway...

I keep meaning to, because I suspect he worked at CompuServe while I was
    there.

well, it's set in the call centre of some sort of tech. firm in
    Bristol in the early 90s.

If you can't be arsed actually buying it, I'm sure I could be
persuaded to bring it on the ToGTrip.
