I`ve shown this to swmbo and she cracked up laughing - "Thats almost
exactly what you said."

I say good for him. It got him the publicity he wanted as well as
telling the truth. A place for wankers and drop outs along with most
other Victorian seaside holes.

Personally I reckon he is spot on. I was cringing just walking down
the seafront - the worst of British in a concentrated area -

Unfortunately I was with SWMBO, who for some odd reason, didn't want to sit
in pubs drinking and eating. So we spent days sailing about trying to find
something else to do. Which is **** all. It didn't help that although we
went in August the weather was like January and pissed down the whole week.

Err, can you give me a clue where to find this information from? There
are more than 4 major cities in the UK, I think you drew Liverpool and
Glasgow out of thin air.

JD is also a big supporter of the Caister (village just north of Yarmouth)
lifeboat which is the only independent (of the RNLI) full size lifeboat in
the country. He bought them an inshore lifeboat and has hosted numerous
events to support their fund raising efforts to maintain the lifeboat that
has saved more lives than any other in the country.

When I were a kid we used to go to Caister-on-Sea for our hols. I can't
decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing really. I mean, if you
choose to stay in Douglas when you go to the IOM you can't really diss
Caister.

Jane and I went there for a day in March. It was sunny warm-ish and
devoid of tourists. A pleasant day. But with one look at the sea front
and with some imagination, it must be the pits in summer.

In defence of JD, he's done a lot for this town and just keeps getting
kicked in the teeth by our tosspot council. The Wellington Pier was left to
rot away by the local authority. If you look at it with a bit of
imagination you can see how it was once a rather grand Victorian
construction. JD took it on and put a lot of his own money into trying to
stop the thing from falling down but was constantly hassled by the council.
in the end he got fed up with it and gave them the finger.

Totally agree. JD's bought enough business into Yarmouth to warrant a
few truths.

The council was quoted as saying, "He can't be talking about
Yarmouth". That was before some fat **** squeezed a turd through his
letter box.

In fact, I'm going to ride up there today just to laugh at those more
unfortunate than I am (the residents).
