I fail to see why someone's lack of wit to come up with their own
material and judgement to correctly gauge when to share someone else's
should be anyone's problem but their own.

 

Yeah but an occasional reader who copies someone-else's work and then dumps
it into the group without checking first is just being ignorant.

By all means post anything ORIGINAL that you want; but we've all got email
and we all know where youtube is so if you've seen it then there's a damn
good chance that we have too.
If you're a regular and you're constantly watching what's being posted then
you know what's new and what's just recycled tripe.

Whilst the motivation is nice, the assumption that I would be
interested in stuff like that is offensive to me. However it's, as you
say, a free newsgroup, and it's an easy reach to the delete key.
The bad taste lingers though.
A little thought about those with whom you are interacting would go a
long way toward people taking you seriously, but hey, I would not want
to preach to anyone let alone the converted.
I disagree with the 'holier than thou' appraoch of some in this group,
but there are times when I see their point.

Sounds like they aren't viable though, if 98% of them are called Lee
but none of the extant ones are.

Either there's 100 possible ones, and only 2 survived, else there's
many more and somewhere there are possibly viable "Northeast" "Sou'sou
West" and "To the left and down a bit".
