Out of the 5 vehicles we own, not one could be taxed or SORNed on line......

They need to have a new electronic MOT, and a fairly recent insurance
    certificate.

Good point. There must be something daft though. I mean, If I can Tax a
15 year old bike, one week after it was MOT'd, one day after I renewed
insurance, and using Safari on Mac OSX, then anybody should be able to
    do it!

Well, the bike dunt need an MOT and the two old Alfas don't need MOT for
    SORN.......
And how recent an insurance certificate?

I just had a look, see what all the fuss is about. Seems that the
Volvo, wot's been on Swiss plates for four years, is still on their
list as 'unlicensed'. Maybe I should have told 'em it'd been
    exported...

No idea exactly, but I guess it has to be a policy registered on their
    database.

LOL, well suppose that with 32 million registered vehicles, some can't
    be correctly stored.

Acherly, it is, sort of, correct. I still have the V5 for it, and one
day, not too soon, when I want to sell it will re-import it. I just
hope they don't try and hit me for all the overdue RFL monies. I did
actually SORN it for the first year when it was over here but still on
UK plates, but the system where you have to reSORN it every year quite
frankly sucks, so I never bothered since.

One wonders what makes that happen? The 156, BX and Triple were all insured
within the last 12 months (pretty obviously) and the Sprint has lay up
    cover as well.....

    An in-date one, unusually

Or do you want me to say "one appropriate for an agricultural vehicle"?

AONTL. For the French version that is. (What's nice this year, is that
declarations are pushed back to the beginning of May, as opposed to the
    usual March start)

And I get 20i euros off for an online declaration. Wow!

Mind you, I've been told that the chances of being audited with an
online declaration are higher than doing the paper declaration.

    <flicks through other posts>

Ah, you were talking about vehicle tax? How quaint. Does that still exist? :)
