Dunno, but AOL. I love my bfo 60 gazillion candle power
    plug-into-a-fag-lighter-socket one. Childish, but fun.

You do know you can get LED inserts for conventional Maglites?

Bollocks. I have a cheapo Eurohike head torch that I got as a birthday
present a few years ago. It has seen incessant use. When all 5 LEDs are
on, it's seriously bright, and effortlessly dominates many other sources of
    illumination.

    You're doing it wrong.

It's meant to be the "suspect" that gets lobbed down the steps, *after*
being hit with the Maglite. Sheesh.

I'm going to break all the anti-knife rules with my son. Just trying
to figure out the best age to give him his first Leatherman.

I reckon about 5 or 6 because that's the earliest memory I have of
    knowing what a penknife was.

My Petzl headtorch is possibly the best money I've ever spent.

Indeed, I have the `e+LITE', and used it on my recent bike trip. Dog's
bits in the hammock, but also useful as a stop-gap rear light, by just
putting the headband on, and having the flashing red LED on, pointing
backwards (as in: on the back of your head).

A steal at (IIRC) 16 EUR.

I just love it when cheap, simple things just work really really well.

I've had two of my Zippos repaired by their service department. One of
them[1] had been beaten back into shape after a corner was run over by
a fork lift. They still repaired the damaged hinge FOC.

[1] Given to me as a 21st birthday present by my then nearly 2 year old
daughter. The other was given to me by my other three kids a long time
later and had a very wobbly hinge.

Heh. Quite frequently as it happens, purely to laugh at how ridiculous
I look with a head covered in black dust after angle-grinding cinder
    block.
