Not especially tall no but the seat height and width don't make it
particularly low either. Hagon make a shorter shock for this purpose.

If its clean and together and feels ok to ride I would pay up to a grand for
    it.

Check discs for wear and cracking around the holes, wheel rims for dings and
    forks for pitting.
Other than that google here and in Classic, the usual problems are well
    documented.

is the nicest release of the K100RS, it is newer and cheaper with less
    miles, looks like Abingdon.

As others say, no way. You could get a nice 16v model for that, just.

  7. Thanks all for the replys - very useful as always.

Nige, I like yours a lot, but with getting £1250 for the ducati, and having
no spare cash now, I think its still going to be out of my price league.

Hog - Ta - I'll phone the geezar to see if I can get a look at it in the
    next couple of days.

Again - Thanks one and all.

I'm sure Dan L must live near the bloke but perhaps you are around Oxford
    too if memory serves.

    from work.

It should be dark blue and pearl white if that's an original RS-Ltd. It was
the last K100 and the best. Nowt wrong with the old ABS1 on the very odd
occasion you *really* need it. The recommended Hawker Oddysey battery
conversion gets rid of many of those annoying "ABS light not cancelling"
issues, well that and an alternator in good condition plus keeping you ABS
    sensors/connectors clean and protected.

Just the drive shafts and gearboxes? Wow, he was being kind...or
    criminally lax.

**** me Nige, have you ridden it yet? Most people do a FEW miles on a bike
    before Nigeing it out.

FRO. This is pre 1993 stuff we are talking about.

Drive shafts, you need to keep the shaft and bevel box splines clean,
corrosion free with the right Optimoly paste on them. An easy job and if you
    do they should be fine.

Gearboxes? occasional cxlutch/input shaft seal/bearing failure.

That K100RS LTD is probably about the most reliable bike ever made.

    In
Mine was 'till my bro' killed it. :( .... and being fair my 5 previous
K-RS's from 1984 to 1990 models over 23 years of use were utterly reliable
except a couple of brake light switches on the early ones.

My neighbour had 237,000 miles on his before he had an accident, so I guess
    they'll do v high mileages :)

They're not particularly tall but they are heavy so if you're taking
the weight on only the toes of one foot you might have fun if it
starts to slip away from under you.
The buy it now price is too high. Going by what I paid for mine I'd go
as high as £900 and no more.

They're good bikes. I've ragged mine around the Peak District and the
IoM without being put to shame by other riders, you just need to be a
bit firm with them and remain commited once you've decided where you
    want the bike to go.

Ahhh, the master of understatement at work.

Then again, as you know, a sight better if you should sit up/change
line/brake mid corner than on a standard twin shock Boxer.

I always wanted a late one of them. I very nearly called him rather than
    telling you!
I MUST sell at least 3 before buying anything though.
