Didn't I just say they WERE better than a SOBoxer in these situations?

All you need to set up an old K100 is a set of vacuum gauges and a CO2
    meter.

Oh I beg your ever so pudding.
Only Bear couldn't manage something so simple at home.

  4. Looked at it tonight, honest bloke - honest bike.

He's looked after it and serviced it regulary.

A little worn in a couple of places, but starts on the button and sounds
    sweet with no smoke.

Zorst has a wee hole where the guard was refitted a little over zealously,
    no rust though.

Still on tip toes, so I think someone mentioned a hagon shock that'll lower
it - must hunt around for one of those !

    Being an '89 F-Reg that makes it an 8V / 987cc right ?

Sounds good. They all whine, it's the layshaft off the crank to the
    gearbox.
    They all do that sir
It';s a special order from Hagon
It is indeed and a sweet lump.

Well the 8V is more robust than the 16v and also easier to service. 70k
is nothing on the engine, I've taken one to about 130k and then gave up
on it because of cycle parts. However... I'd also agree that 900squid
is probably as far as I'd want to go if I were in the market for an RS.

  8. Nice one,

    I've ordered : Hagon shock absorber (K75/K100 8v short length) SUA50849B
£150.00 from Motoworks - it should be spot on then.

Don't forget you can slide the forks a bit lower in the yokes too.

Well done Brownz. **** I used to be the K series saddo around here. I get
rid of them and they become the new Clit Bike.
Call Hagon back and get them to send a fork spring upgrade kit with your
shock. They need it anyway but the Hagon shock is firmer and even more
    mismatched with the standard forks.
It is easy enough to put the springs in. If you can be bothered mix 5&10w
fork oil to get 7.5w or just use 10w if you can't be arsed.
With the new shock and the springs the 100RS will handle quite nicely. Talk
to a good tyre place, one of the manufacturers recently launched a range of
radial tyres with some retro sizes.
EBC HH pads make them stop respectably too for a bit of extra disc wear.

    Ta for all your advice.

    Will order the springs pronto.

The chap's just fitted new EBC pads all round as well as doing an oil
    service.

Thanks for the pointer too Steve.

Still trying to track down a PDF manual. Anyone ?

I did this on my GSXR750, it made a big different and also improved the
    handling.

Aye well that is a radial tyre. It may be the Pilot Powers I heard
    about.
Be careful though, the K needs a radial tyre with a high degree of
straight line stability. The original Pirelli MP7 semi radial was
supplied on the 1985/6 model 100RS Ltd and then on the 16v 100RS.
